FAQs

Q: How where do I go to sign up and participate in Patriot Experience?

A: It's easy! Just head over to our website at and navigate to the 'What is Patriot Experience?' Menu tab. There will be a drop-down menu you will navigate to the 'Patriot Experience Access Form' tab. Fill out this form with your Pathway(s) of interest and you will be added to the Patriot Experience. Note: You will see your access within the next 48-72 hours.

Q: I've participated in many events at Mason. How do I know which events count as credit toward Patriot Experience?

A: Patriot Experience has a unique way to let you know which events count toward credit for a specific Pathway. 1) Each Pathway has a 'Fulfillment Options' section for events that are considered 'Event Attendance'. You can look through the 'Fulfillment Options' section to see what events count for credit of that specific item. 2) Also, you can review the Pathway item descriptions to understand what events are related to that specific Pathway item.

Q: How do I see my progress and the reflection questions that I've completed?

A: It's very simple! All you need to do is select the pathway level you would like to review in the Progress drop-down menu. Once you've selected the pathway level you would like to review, you will need to press 'Print Preview' or 'PDF Download'. You will be directed to a 'Student Success Progress Report' that allows you to review your work as well as print your progress.

Q: What if I started participating in Patriot Experience in my Senior year here at Mason?

A: No matter when you started Patriot Experience, if you've been heavily involved and have immersed yourself in the unique opportunities that Mason has to offer, your involvement catches up with you once you sign up. Some items require a quick experience submission, others will be automatically completed.

Q: Is there an Android or iOS application I can use to access Patriot Experience on the go?

A: Unfortunately, there is no dedicated application for Patriot Experience. However, GetConnected and the Patriot Experience are optimized for mobile access on your smartphone. Add the site to your homescreen and you have easy access on the go!

Android: Open Google Chrome > Launch the getconnected.gmu.edu or patriotexperience.gmu.edu homepage > Tap the Menu > Tap 'Add Homescreen'

Apple iPhone, iPod, iPad: Open Safari Brower > Launch the getconnected.gmu.edu or patriotexperience.gmu.edu > Tap on the Share Button in the browser tool bar - that's the rectangle with the arrow pointing upwards. > Tap the 'Add to Homescreen' icon in the Share menu

Windows: Open the Internet Explorer Browser > Launch the getconnected.gmu.edu or patriotexperience.gmu.edu homepage > Pull up the app bar > Tap the pin Icon > Tap Pin to Start
